How do voice messages work?
When voice chat is available, tap the microphone, record 1–60 seconds, preview or seek through the draft, then send. Recipients can opt out of voice while keeping text chat on.

When voice messages are currently available, an empty chat composer shows a microphone instead of the text-send arrow.
Record, preview and send
Tap the microphone. The first time, allow microphone access in your device permission prompt.
Speak for at least 1 second and up to 60 seconds, then tap the stop control.
Preview the recording with play/pause. You can also tap the waveform to jump to another point.
Tap Send, or use the trash button to discard the draft and start again.
Received voice notes show their duration and waveform. Tap play/pause, or tap the waveform to seek while listening. Only one voice note plays at a time.
If voice is unavailable
The feature can be enabled or disabled for the whole game, so the microphone may not always appear.
Each player can turn off Receive Voice Messages in Settings. If the recipient opted out, you can still send them text.
Daily and short-term safety limits protect the service. If you hit one, wait and try again later.
You can press and hold an incoming voice note to report it, just like an incoming text message. You can also press and hold your own voice note to delete it for everyone while message deletion is available and still inside the allowed window.
Microphone access is used only when you choose to record. If permission was denied, enable it later in your phone's app settings.
