How do private chats work?
Private chats now include text and voice messages, typing indicators, read receipts and delete-for-everyone. Deleting the whole chat still only hides it from your list.

Want to talk to someone you just beat (or who beat you β it happens to the best of us)? The Private Chats tab in the bottom menu holds all your conversations. Every chat is 1-on-1 β just you and one other player.
Sending messages
Each message can be up to 240 characters β plenty of room for some friendly post-match banter.
Gifts you send or receive show up right inside the chat too, so the conversation tells the whole story.
While the other player is writing, a small typing indicator appears at the bottom of the conversation. It disappears automatically when they stop, send, leave the chat or lose connection.
Sent and read
Your outgoing messages show a receipt icon. It turns blue after the other player reads the message β but only while both players have Read Receipts enabled in Settings. Turn yours off and read status is hidden in both directions.
Never miss a message
New message? You'll see an unread badge on the Private Chats tab, and a push notification reaches you even when the app is closed.
Deleting one message for everyone
Press and hold your own sent text or voice message and confirm Delete to replace it with βThis message was deletedβ for both players. The feature can be switched off, and it works only inside the current server-set time limit β currently no longer than 48 hours after sending.
Deleting a chat
Deleting a chat only hides it from your list β the history isn't erased, and if a new message arrives, the conversation pops right back into your list.
Deleting a message and deleting the chat are different: message deletion affects both players; deleting the chat list entry affects only you.
