😜 Why can I only send emojis during a match?

TL;DR

In-match communication is emoji-only — no free text. Extra emojis are sold in the store (currently 150 gems each), and some are progress-track rewards.

Updated June 11, 2026

During a match there's no text chat — you and your opponent communicate with emojis only. It keeps matches fast, focused, and free of mid-round trash-talk essays.

Send an emoji and your opponent sees it instantly — perfect for a quick "nice one!" or a dramatic facepalm.

Getting more emojis

  • Extra emojis are sold in the store, currently for 150 gems each.

  • Some emojis are progress-track rewards — you earn them by reaching milestones as your Trophies climb.

The store's cosmetics shelf shows a rotating selection, so if the emoji you've got your eye on isn't there right now, check back — the lineup refreshes regularly.

Pro tip: a perfectly timed emoji right after a clutch answer is the ultimate power move. Use it wisely.
